1Who these terms are between

These terms are between you and the operator of Escheat Sheet (“we,” “us”), covering escheat-sheet.com and everything on it. By using the site or buying access, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site — the free practice questions included.

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and if you are buying on behalf of an employer you need the authority to do that.

2What you are buying

A one-time payment of $39 USD unlocks the full Escheat Sheet question bank — currently 400 Certified Payroll Professional practice questions with a written explanation on each — plus the study modes built around it (practice sets by content area, speed rounds, flashcards, and saved progress).

This is digital access, not a downloadable file. You are buying a licence to use the material on this site, not ownership of the questions.

Part of the bank is free to everyone with no account and no payment. That free tier is a courtesy, not a contractual entitlement, and its size may change.

We add and revise questions over time — particularly when the exam's content outline or law year changes. Those updates are included at no extra cost. We may also retire or rewrite questions that turn out to be wrong or stale. The bank is a living thing; the specific count is not a promise frozen at the moment you paid.

3What “lifetime access” honestly means

It means we will not charge you again, and we will not put your access behind a subscription later. It does not mean the internet is forever.

If we ever shut the service down, we will give reasonable notice by email to the address on your account. If a shutdown happens within 12 months of your purchase, email us and we will refund you, regardless of the 30-day window in section 4. That is a commitment, not a courtesy.

4Refunds

30 days, no questions asked. Email help@escheat-sheet.com from the address you paid with and say you want a refund. That is the entire process.

No form, no reason required, no argument, and no attempt to talk you out of it. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and typically take a few business days to appear, depending on your bank. Your access to the paid bank ends when the refund is issued.

The only thing we ask: one refund per person. If you buy again after refunding, the 30-day window does not restart, and we may decline repeat purchase-and-refund cycles.

5Accounts

You can practise the free questions without an account. Paid access is tied to an account, which is tied to an email address. If you buy without signing in first, we create the account from the email you paid with and send you a sign-in link.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

One account, one person. Paid access is personal and non-transferable. If you need seats for a team, email us and we will work something out rather than pretend an individual licence covers it.

6Acceptable use

You may:

  • Use the questions and explanations for your own exam preparation, for as long as you like.
  • Take notes from them, work through them on paper, and study them however suits you.

You may not:

  • Redistribute the question bank — copying, reposting, selling, publishing, or sharing questions or explanations, in whole or in substantial part, anywhere.
  • Share your account or your access with other people, including colleagues.
  • Scrape or bulk-extract the content, by script or by hand, or use it to train a model or build a competing product.
  • Attempt to bypass the paywall, the API, or the database's access controls, or attack the service.

The questions and explanations are original work and are protected by copyright. If you breach this section we may suspend or terminate your access without a refund, and pursue whatever remedies are available.

One deliberate exception

Quoting a question or two in a forum post or a study group to ask about it is normal human behaviour and we are not going to come after you for it. The line is redistribution — reproducing the bank, or a meaningful chunk of it, so other people do not have to buy it.

7No affiliation with PayrollOrg

Escheat Sheet is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, licensed by, or connected to PayrollOrg (formerly the American Payroll Association), Pearson VUE, or any certifying or testing body.

“Certified Payroll Professional,” “CPP,” “Fundamental Payroll Certification,” “FPC,” “PayrollOrg” and any related marks are the property of their respective owners. We use them only to describe what this product prepares you for, which is nominative fair use and nothing more.

Our questions are original material written by us. They are not actual exam questions, are not drawn from any live or retired exam, and no one involved with this product has access to the CPP item bank. Anyone selling you “real” exam questions is either lying or committing a serious breach — and using such material can cost you your certification.

PayrollOrg sets the exam content outline, the eligibility requirements, the fees, and the passing standard. Where anything on this site conflicts with what PayrollOrg or Pearson VUE publish, they are correct and we are not. Always confirm exam dates, deadlines, eligibility and fees with the official sources before acting on them.

8No guarantee of a passing result

This product helps you prepare. It cannot and does not guarantee that you will pass the CPP exam, that you are eligible to sit it, or that any particular score follows from using it. Whether you pass depends on your knowledge, your preparation, and the exam itself — none of which we control.

We work hard on accuracy and review the bank against current IRS, DOL and PayrollOrg guidance, but payroll law changes and mistakes happen. Nothing on this site is tax, legal, accounting or professional advice. Do not run a real payroll off a practice question. If you find an error, tell us at help@escheat-sheet.com — we would rather know.

9Availability

We aim to keep the site up and working, but it is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may take it down for maintenance.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only as far as the law allows, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected by anything on this page.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, exam fees, or a failed exam attempt, arising out of your use of this site.

Our total liability to you for any claim relating to this service is capped at the amount you actually paid us — which for nearly everyone is $39. That figure is not a negotiating position; it reflects what this product costs and what it is.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

11Termination

You can stop using the site any time, and you can ask us to delete your account at any point (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms — in practice, that means redistributing the question bank or attacking the service, not forgetting your password.

12Changes, law, and contact

We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top, and if the change is material we will say so on the site rather than quietly editing this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. A change to these terms never retroactively removes a refund right you already had.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
